Welcome to my online portfolio. I am a 19 year old student living in the West Midlands, UK. I divide my time between art, graphic design and illustration, and am currently studying BA Graphics & Illustration at university.
Animals are usually the main features of my art. I like the way each animal is different, and enjoy the challenge of bringing their personalities through with my pencils and paints. My style of artwork is very traditional and realistic. I work mainly in coloured pencils, graphite pencils and acrylic paints, as well as experimenting with pastels. I also paint landscapes, which tend to differ from my usual animal pencil work as the focus is less on the detail, and more on the atmosphere and use of colour.
However, my graphic design work is completely different from my fine art, incorporating the use of various styles, textures and materials, from photographs to papers and handdrawn images. Through my university course I am learning to explore deeper within the realms of graphic design.
Finally, my illustrative work tends to revolve around the use of initial pencil sketches, which are then traced in black ink, scanned onto the computer and worked on in Photoshop to produce the final illustration.
